About Wayne

I grew up in a fishing family, where getting up at 4 AM to help my dad on the lobster boat, or help my uncle catch bait taught me early on that you show up, work hard, and take care of your own. After high school, I spent 11 years as a Marine Engineer working on cargo ships, oil tankers, and passenger vessels. That experience taught me discipline, responsibility, and how to solve problems when it matters.

When my son was born, I came ashore to raise my family and built a career in real estate, helping more than 450 buyers and sellers across Lincoln County. Through that work, I’ve seen up close how much harder it’s become for working families to find and afford a home.

My wife Lynn and I built our life in Jefferson, where we raised our family and reopened the Jefferson Market as a general store and foster a gathering place for the community. I’ve also spent more than 20 years on the Jefferson Budget Committee and served on local boards, making tough decisions and focusing on what’s practical.

I’ve brought that same steady, common-sense approach to Augusta — focused on housing, affordability, and delivering real results for the people who live and work here.

  • I’ve always wanted to be part of the solution and not the problem. I rather be part of trying to get things done to help people, be some kind of function for the community when they want it.

  • I like to work with everybody to find solutions by making decisions and talking things through.

  • I enjoy canoeing and kayaking on Lake Damariscotta when I can.

What Matters Most

Housing & Affordability

Housing costs are too high. If we want young families to stay here and local businesses to find workers, we need more affordable housing and more workforce housing. That means encouraging responsible development and creating incentives that help projects get off the ground. Strong communities depend on people being able to live where they work.

Rebuilding Roads & Bridges

Our rural towns can’t carry the cost of major infrastructure repairs alone. Roads and bridges are essential for public safety, local businesses, and everyday life. We need sustained, responsible investment to make sure our infrastructure supports growth instead of holding it back.

Lower Prescription Drug Costs

Too many families are burdened by the high cost of long-term prescriptions. We must continue working toward practical solutions that make medications more affordable and accessible, especially for seniors and those on fixed incomes.

Supporting Local Business & Main Street

Small businesses are the backbone of Lincoln County — from working waterfronts to farms, shops, and local services. Policies coming out of Augusta should strengthen, not hinder, the people who create jobs and keep our towns alive.

Listening & Common-Sense Leadership

Government works best when people feel heard. I believe in talking things through, working with anyone willing to find solutions, and focusing on what our communities want. Less division. More results.

Community Service

I like to work with everybody to find solutions by making decisions and talking things through.
